The Biggest Cover-up In History | Divya Toshniwal |

The biggest reason why the Britishers could rule India was that they changed our education system - what we learned and the way we learned it.

I was in Grade 6 when I first read about the Harappan Civilization and its demise. As a child, I was excited about how advanced those people were but also that they were defeated by the Aryans, and thus they retreated down towards the Indian Peninsula. The Aryans, according to my history book, had come down from the Caspian sea region from central Asia. But a twist awaited for me when I had a conversation about this with my uncle.

"Why do you think the Aryans came down from the Caspian Sea region and were not originally from India?"

"It is written in my textbook. The Aryans lived in the Caspian Sea region and then a few of them moved towards the European countries and few moved southwards towards India."

"What if I say that the Aryans belong to India  or ' Aryavarta' and a few of them moved towards the western countries to spread the knowledge there?"

" But it is written in the history book. They came from the Caspian sea."

"But it is written in our ancient texts that they belonged to India"

"Those texts are mythology not history"

"Are they? And who said that?"

"It's written in my book about the Ramayana and Mahabharata being a long poem with a story."

"Why is your book correct and my book wrong?"

And then he began with his story
"Lord Macaulay had addressed the British Parliament on regarding governing India and this is what he had said:
-I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and, therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation.

In fact, The Britishers created a new history to be taught in India with its new education system, where they proved that the Aryans in fact did not belong to the land of India, that they were foreign advanced civilization who came to rule India from the Caspian sea region. So that they can prove their superiority and thus easily rule India."

This story had left me in shock but since I could not write this answer in my exams to score well, he stopped his story and said that we would have this conversation sometime later.

The thought never left my mind and today in this article I am writing down a few observations and questions that I have collected in the past few years.

Whether advanced or backward, we know that the ancient eastern cultures of Hinduism and Buddhism were crushed by western civilization. The biggest reason why the Britishers could rule India was that they changed our education system - what we learned and the way we learned it.

But why was all this done? They say they made us more advanced by changing our outdated age-old systems. But did they?

In our ancient texts the distance between the sun and the earth was mentioned much before the westerners knew that the earth moves around the sun. In Bhagwat Geeta the word bhugol clearly indicates we knew the earth is round much before it was proven by the westerners( who believed it was flat and that if you reach the edge you would fall off). We knew about the positional impact of the moon and the planets much before the westerners even knew that a solar system exists. We have been meditating with the sound of 'Aum' long before scientists proved the sound of cosmic energy falling on the earth is the sound of 'Aum'. Cosmic energy is the creator of life on earth. We had the 'Pushpak Viman ' and many other flying aids much before it could even be imagined by the westerners that men could fly.

Now, think about so many things that science has not yet talked about or proved for that matter. They still laugh when we claim that the 'Rishis ' of ancient India could teleport from one place to another. They say it is not possible. But a hundred years from now when Science makes it possible, they will agree to it as they agreed with the other things stated above. So did they really advance us? or did they move us backward so that we forget how advanced we really were and they could rule us easily. Are the ancient texts really mythology? or are they actually our history.

This was not done just to rule one country but it was a part of an even bigger plan. This was the game of 'Power' and the whole cover-up was done to concentrate the power in the hands of a select few.

The westerners have always looked for the answers outside but the ancient eastern culture has always said 'As is outside, so is inside'. The people in ancient India and Tibet searched for the answers inside and it opened a portal of knowledge for them, the entrance to which is lost in time as we started to look for answers outside. If any person works hard enough to tap into that source of energy there is almost nothing they cannot do. Whether it is achieving a healthy body, intuitive sixth sense, telepathic abilities, or access to akashic records. What powers we achieve depends on what 'sadhana' we do. Thus if we start looking inside, every individual can be as powerful as the other. The moral values would be high, there would be respect for each other. As every person would elevate their soul, crime rates would go down and we would move towards the time that was once called 'Satyug'. Every person would be a 'Dev' or 'Devi' as said in the ancient texts that we had 33 crores Devi-Devta (which in fact was the contemporary population)

There is one universal energy source that is responsible for life on earth and we have a part of that energy within us. Hence we are all connected to the power of the universe through the energy inside us. To know what lies outside, to understand the past, present, and future what we need to do is explore the energy inside. This is what Carl Jung says to be 'collective consciousness' and our ancient texts describe as '  Akashic Records ' or records maintained by Chitragupt.

The western cultures taught us to look outside for knowledge and hence we forgot to look inside. They said our history was actually mythology and we believed them. They said we were superstitious and follow senseless rituals and we agreed to be modernized. They said to grow we have to leave behind where we came from and we walked away from our roots. But just a reminder -

It is in the roots, not the branches, that a tree's greatest strength lies.

If you know where you come from, no one can stop you from reaching where you want to go.

  1. Yes, we were more advanced in science, medicine, warfare, arts, crafts, architecture, agriculture, yoga, meditation and so on. We gave the world ZERO by Aryabatta, if I am not wrong, without which there would have no advancement in mathematics, science, computer science, and commerce. We had numbers that were lesser than the least number now in maths and numbers greater than trillions.

Our education system was value and knowledge based. It was in the form of listening and remembering and not taking notes as we do. It helped to improve our memory, intellect, and thinking power. One drawback we had was we didn't document many things and many things that wete documented in palm leaves were destroyed or looted by invaders. Thus leaving us devoid of our rich ancient knowledge. This also paved way to the present education system.
